Searchanise alternative: if you need filters, keep Searchanise

If what you need is filters, facets and a fast search results page, take Searchanise: we do not build those. OneSite Assistant is for the shopper who writes a sentence instead of a keyword. Many stores will want one, the other, or both.

Choose Searchanise if

  • You need custom filters, a search results page and merchandising. We have none of these.
  • You want search that copes with partial words and typos and a view of what shoppers searched for, including searches that found nothing.
  • You want a low entry price: its listing shows a free plan.

Choose OneSite Assistant if

  • Shoppers ask for an occasion, a person or a situation, not a product name.
  • You want one product with a stated reason rather than a page of results.
  • You want unanswered questions to reach you as requests, with the shopper’s own words, instead of disappearing into a search log.

Side by side

Main job

Searchanise: smart search results pages and custom filters. OneSite Assistant: a described need answered with one product and a reason.

What we do not do

No filters, no facets, no results page, no support chat.

Guarantee on the answer

Name, price and stock are read from your catalogue by product ID; the AI never writes them.

Price

Searchanise, per its Shopify listing read on 2026-10-01: a free plan, $19 a month for up to 1,500 products, $39 for up to 7,500, with a 14-day trial. Check its listing for today’s numbers. Ours is on the pricing page.

What merchants say about Searchanise

Reviews are mostly positive, and the praise is usually about named people on the support team and about search that beats Shopify’s built-in one. We read them in October 2026. The recurring complaints:

  • Support that was slow or silent for some merchants.
  • Customising the look often needs CSS or a request to support.
  • Outage reports around Black Friday 2024. The developer’s reply says it was fixed within an hour.
  • Refund disputes on annual billing in a few reviews.

Using both

The assistant is a separate theme block, so it does not touch the search app you already run. Keep Searchanise for filters and results pages; add the assistant only if sentence-style questions are going unanswered.

Test it on your own shoppers’ words

Do not decide from a feature table, ours included. Open your store’s search log and take five real queries: two that found the right product, two that found nothing, one written as a sentence. Run them through the tool you use today and through the OneSite Assistant demo, and compare what comes back.

If the tool you already use answers them well, keep it. If the sentence-style queries come back empty, that is the gap we are built for.

Try it on your store

Install OneSite Assistant from the Shopify App Store. In the Shopify app you approve the plan right after install and start with a free trial. See the pricing and the questions worth asking before you install.
