Documentation

What each screen means and the rules the app follows when nobody is watching.

The dashboard

It opens inside your Shopify admin, under Apps. There is no separate login: Shopify tells us which shop is open, and we show that shop. The dashboard follows the language of your Shopify admin.

Install

whether the widget has loaded on a live storefront, on which host and when.

Look

colour, side of the screen, button or bar.

Stats

how many questions were asked, answered and missed, over time.

Demand

the requests your catalogue could not answer, with the date, the country and a contact when one was left. Exports as CSV or PDF.

Requests

the full log: every question, what came back, and why.

Plan

the subscription, its state, and where to manage it.

How the catalogue is read

Through the Admin API with the read_products permission, starting right after install: titles, descriptions, prices, availability, images and links. Because it is the API and not a crawler, a storefront that is still password-protected is read in full.

It refreshes on its own. Product edits deliberately do not arrive as webhooks: one edit would trigger re-reading and re-indexing that product on our side, and a bulk edit of a thousand products would trigger it a thousand times.

Languages

The assistant speaks English, Spanish, Greek and Russian, and uses the published language of your storefront, read with the read_locales permission, when it is one of these — deliberately not the language of your admin. Which language you read your own panel in is your business; your shoppers see the storefront.

Currency and availability

Prices are in your shop’s own currency. Availability has three states, not two: in stock, pre-order and out. Pre-order is shown as pre-order, with the expected date, because telling a shopper “in stock” and landing them on a pre-order button is worse than saying nothing.

Addresses your storefront answers on

A shop answers on more than one: your own domain, the myshopify one that admin links use, and the throwaway address the theme editor opens a preview on. All three are opened at install — Shopify tells us the names, so there is nothing to type in. The Install tab lists them.

What a shopper sees

A button in the corner. Opening it loads a frame served from our domain, which is what keeps your theme’s styles and ours from interfering in either direction. The answer is one product with its price, its availability and one sentence on why it fits, plus alternatives when there are any.

If your shop shows a consent banner, the assistant reads the visitor’s answer and respects it: with marketing refused, the contact form is not offered at all; with analytics refused, no usage events are sent.

Limits

One plan and no charge per question, but two limits protect the service: each shop has a monthly budget for the language model — after it, answers come from catalogue search without the model until the month ends — and each conversation can ask a limited number of questions per minute.

Uninstalling

Switch the block off and uninstall from your admin. Charges stop with the uninstall. Data is erased when Shopify tells us to, 48 hours later; until then a reinstall brings back your own catalogue and your own demand report.
