Terms of Service
The agreement between a merchant and OneSite Agency for using OneSite Assistant: what we provide, what it costs, what each side is responsible for.
Last updated 2 October 2026
The agreement
These terms are an agreement between OneSite Agency (“we”) and the business that installs OneSite Assistant or subscribes to it (“you”). By installing the app or subscribing, you accept them. Our Privacy page is part of these terms and says how data is handled.
OneSite Agency is a trading name of ARTIQUS LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under number 12357522. Registered office: 32 Regent Street, Wycliffe College, Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, GL10 2AD, United Kingdom.
Nothing in these terms restricts you from using other apps or services, including competing ones, during or after your subscription.
If you use the app through Shopify
- We alone, and not Shopify, are responsible for the app.
- Shopify has no liability for the app or for your use of it.
- Shopify does not provide support for the app; we do, at the address at the end of this page.
- Any liability arising from the app rests with us, within the limits set out in these terms.
Your use of Shopify itself is governed by Shopify’s own terms.
Who may use it
The service is for businesses, not consumers. You must be able to enter a contract for your business and give us accurate information. Keep your sign-in details to yourself: you are responsible for what is done under your account and your shop’s settings.
What the service does
The assistant reads your catalogue, answers shoppers’ questions on your storefront with products from it, records the requests it could not answer and shows you what happened in the dashboard. We may improve or change features; if a change removes something you rely on, we tell you in advance.
In the Shopify app, two further features work only if you grant their optional permission in the app: managing your store’s discount codes, and writing contacts shoppers leave into your Shopify customers, as the Privacy page describes.
Price, trial and billing
- Through Shopify: you approve the plan in your Shopify admin right after install, at the price shown on our Shopify App Store listing and on Shopify’s approval page, and Shopify bills it every 30 days. The dashboard and the storefront assistant work only while the plan is approved.
- In the Shopify app there are four plans by catalogue size, with a free trial period before the first charge; plans and their product limits are listed on our Shopify App Store listing, on our Pricing page and on Shopify’s approval page. During the trial we index a limited number of products; the rest of a larger catalogue is indexed after the first paid period begins.
- Directly with us: you pay monthly by card through Stripe, at the price on our Pricing page. There are two ways to begin, each shown with its price before you enter a card: a paid trial week followed by the monthly subscription, or the monthly subscription right away. If you cancel before the trial week ends, the monthly charge does not happen.
- The price is always shown before you approve a charge. Once you have subscribed, your price does not go up for 12 months. If we change prices after that, we write to you at least 30 days before the new price applies to you, and you can cancel before then; a month you have already paid for is served to its end.
Cancelling
Through Shopify: cancel the plan at any time from the Plan tab inside the app. Cancellation stops any further charges, and the assistant keeps working until the end of the month you have paid for; the current month is not refunded. Uninstalling the app ends the subscription right away and stops the assistant. Directly: cancel from the Plan tab of your dashboard, through Stripe; the assistant keeps working until the end of the paid month, no refund is given, and no further charges are taken. Export your demand report first if you want to keep it.
Fair use and limits
There is no charge per question, but limits protect the service: each shop has a monthly budget for the language model, after which answers come from catalogue search without the model until the next month; each conversation can ask a limited number of questions per minute; and we may slow down or block traffic that looks automated or abusive.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the service for goods or content that are illegal or, on Shopify, forbidden by its Acceptable Use Policy;
- load content into it that you have no right to use;
- try to reach other merchants’ data, probe or overload our systems, or copy the service by scraping or reverse engineering;
- use the assistant to mislead shoppers about products, prices or the fact that they are talking to an automated assistant.
AI answers
Answers are generated by an AI model from your catalogue and shown to shoppers labelled as picked by AI. They can be wrong or incomplete, and they are not professional advice. Your product pages, prices and store terms remain what governs your sales, so keep your catalogue accurate.
Your content and ours
You keep all rights in your catalogue and your shop’s data. You let us use them to provide the service to you and — only if you subscribe with us directly — for the aggregated, de-identified learning described on the Privacy page; data from shops installed through Shopify is never used for learning. We keep all rights in the app; you get a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it while your subscription lasts.
Processing shoppers’ personal data
For shoppers’ personal data you are the controller and we are your processor. These terms are our data processing agreement. We:
- process it only on your instructions — these terms, the Privacy page and your settings; our only use of it for our own purposes is the de-identified learning the Privacy page describes, and only for shops that subscribe with us directly;
- make sure everyone who handles it is bound to confidentiality;
- apply the security measures described on the Privacy page;
- use only the processors listed on the Privacy page and add a new one only after updating that page; you can object by writing to us, and cancel if we cannot resolve your objection;
- help you answer shoppers’ requests and, where needed, with impact assessments;
- tell you about a personal data breach without undue delay and no later than 72 hours after we become aware of it;
- delete shop data after Shopify’s erasure notice and in any case within 30 days of the end of the service, with backups rotating it out within 14 more days;
- give you the information needed to show that these obligations are met.
Transfers outside the European Economic Area happen only as described on the Privacy page.
Availability and support
We work to keep the service running but do not promise that it will be uninterrupted: maintenance and outages happen. When the assistant is unavailable, your storefront keeps working without it. Support is by email, in English; we usually answer within one business day.
Liability
The service is provided as it is, to the extent the law allows. Neither side is liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profit or lost sales. Our total liability in any 12 months is limited to the fees you paid for the service in those 12 months. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Suspension and termination
You may stop at any time, as described under Cancelling. We may suspend or end the service if you breach these terms, if payment fails, or to prevent harm to shoppers, other merchants or our systems; where we can, we warn you first. When the service ends, the assistant stops answering and your data is deleted as the Privacy page describes.
Partner programme
Some shops come to us through a partner: a blogger, consultant or agency that gives you a referral code. The code costs you nothing and changes neither the price nor the trial; every merchant pays the same. Amounts and conditions for partners are on the Partners page, not repeated here.
Payouts. A partner is credited only for a period the shop has actually paid for: a trial, a free week or a fully discounted invoice earns nothing. Credited amounts are held for a set period and become payable only after the shop has made a second payment. The payout schedule and minimum are shown on the Partners page.
Refunds. If a payment is refunded or disputed, the partner’s share of it is reversed in the same proportion, and the one-time amount too when the first payment is refunded in full. A negative balance is set off against later accruals.
Disclosure. A partner must tell you that they receive a commission when they recommend OneSite Assistant, before you install or subscribe. We show a partner only your shop’s domain, whether it is paying and the commission accrued for it, as the Privacy page says.
No self-referral. A partner may not use their own code for a shop they own or control, or for a shop of the same business. We check this when the code is entered; a shop credited in breach is cancelled and the partnership may be closed. A shop can have only one partner, and a code can be added only at installation or shortly after.
Changes to these terms
When these terms change, the date at the top changes with it. We tell you about changes that affect you before they apply; if you do not accept them, you can cancel before they take effect.
