Rep AI alternative: a sales assistant, or a product picker with a reason
Rep AI is a sales and support assistant that holds conversations. OneSite Assistant is narrower: it picks one product from your catalogue for what the shopper describes, and says why. If you want conversational support and sales across your store, Rep AI is the closer fit.

Choose Rep AI if
- You want an assistant that handles sales and support conversations, not only product picking.
- You are comfortable with plans priced by visits at the higher tiers, and with a setup that, according to some reviews, takes training and tuning.
Choose OneSite Assistant if
- You want the answer to be one product and a visible reason, not a free-form chat that can drift.
- You want a store owner’s control: the card’s name, price and stock come from your catalogue, and a pick that is not in the list the AI was shown is discarded.
- You want a miss to reach you, as a request with the shopper’s words, not be guessed at.
Side by side
Rep AI: AI sales and support assistant. OneSite Assistant: one product for a described need, with a reason.
No support conversations, no order help, no handoff chat.
Name, price and stock are read from your catalogue by product ID. The reason line is written by the AI, labelled as such, and can be wrong; every answer carries it so a wrong one is visible.
Rep AI, per its site and listing read in October 2026: plans starting at $49 a month, with higher tiers priced by visits. Sources differed on exact tiers, so check its pricing page. Ours is on the pricing page.
What merchants say about Rep AI
Reviews are mostly positive, with praise for named onboarding staff and for saved support tickets. We read them in October 2026. The complaints are few and recurring:
- Answers that sound sure and miss the point. One 2026 review calls them “confident-sounding answers that often don’t address the question”.
- A plan limit followed by a large upgrade prompt, in one early-2026 review.
- Setup that needed repeated training sessions, according to some reviewers.
- One July 2026 review reports the widget remaining in the theme after uninstalling.
Using both
They answer different questions. A chat assistant covers the conversation; the OneSite Assistant block covers “what should I buy”. Run one, or both, and judge by your own shoppers’ queries.
Test it on your own shoppers’ words
Do not decide from a feature table, ours included. Open your store’s search log and take five real queries: two that found the right product, two that found nothing, one written as a sentence. Run them through the tool you use today and through the OneSite Assistant demo, and compare what comes back.
If the tool you already use answers them well, keep it. If the sentence-style queries come back empty, that is the gap we are built for.
Try it on your store
Install OneSite Assistant from the Shopify App Store. In the Shopify app you approve the plan right after install and start with a free trial. See the pricing and the questions worth asking before you install.
